Eastern Tick Borne Rickettsioses
The Eastern Tick Borne Rickettsioses ailment is actually caused by a group of bacteria with an obligate intracellular nature belonging to either the spotted fever group (SFG) or the typhus group (TG). In previous years, Rickettsioses infection was thought to be caused by only one bacterium species- the Rickettsia species. However it could also be from a strain of bacteria referred to as scrub typhus (which is still considered a rickettsiosis). There are many other causative organisms which are constantly being discovered that could affect individuals caused by ticks of the eastern hemisphere.
