Endophthalmitis

Inflammation of the intraocular cavities or the vitreous humor, which is the gel-like substance that is found in the spaces in the eye's retina and lens. It is an infection that can be caused by toxic factors and other irritants, especially after surgery. There are two types of Endophthalmitis- Endogenous and Exogenous. Endogenous Endophthalmitis is caused by irritants without direct contact with the eyes. Exogenous Endophthalmitis is caused by direct contact with the eyes. Symptoms can start with vision loss, pain in the eye area, redness, and some watery discharge.
