Fascioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy

This is one of the many types of Muscular Dystrophy, which is wasting and weakness of muscles. Different types of Muscular Dystrophy vary in terms of what body part is affected, the extremity, or the symptoms. In Fascioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy, the area of concern is the shoulder blades. In this type of Muscular Dystrophy, the shoulder blades may stick out when arms are raised making it look like wings. Fascioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy usually affects younger individuals. It is best to seek medical attention especially when there is extreme pain and when normal functions cannot be done because of pain and muscle weakness.
