Clodronic acid

 

Clodronic acid (INN) or clodronate disodium (USAN) is a bisphosphonate. It is used in experimental medicine to selectively deplete for macrophages. It is also approved for human use in Canada, the United Kingdom and Italy, where it is marketed as Bonefos, Loron and Clodron and prescribed as a bone resorption inhibitor and antihypercalcemic agent.
