Alcohol Intolerance (Lack of Ability to Tolerate Alcohol)

Inability of an individual to ingest alcohol due to a lack of the enzyme Aldehyde Dehydrogenase, which is needed to break down alcohol. Ingestion of alcohol will result in an immune response typical to an allergic reaction.
