Anaphylactic Shock

Anaphylactic shock, or anaphylaxis, is a severe allergic reaction that occurs rarely. It occurs as a results of exposure to a triggering agent, such as a certain food (peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, milk and seafood), medicine (penicillin) or insect sting (bee, wasp, fire ant), among others. These cause the release of histamine and other normal body chemicals which result in allergy symptoms.
