Frozen Shoulder

Frozen shoulder, also known as adhesive capsulitis, is a condition of the shoulder characterised by stiffness and pain in the shouler joint. Signs and symptoms generally begin gradually and worsen over time. The pain and stiffness is a result of shoulder capsule inflammation (capsulitis) and fibrotic adhesions which limit shoulder movement. Treatment of frozen shoulder includes stretching exercises and sometimes the injection of corticosteroids into the joint capsule.
