Gastritis

Gastritis refers to inflammation of the lining of the stomach. Gastritis can occur for only a short time (acute gastritis) or for months to years (chronic gastritis). The most common causes are excessive alcohol consumption, Helicobacter pylori infection, or prologed use of certain medications (e.g. aspirin, ibuprofen or naproxen). Symptoms may include loss of appetitie, nausea and vomiting, and abdominal pain.
