Neurotoxicity

Damage to the nervous tissue caused by exposure to natural or artificial toxic substances (neurotoxins). Neurotoxicity can result from exposure to substances used in chemotherapy, radiation treatment, drug therapies, organ transplants and certain drug abuse. Symptoms may appear immediately after exposure to the toxic substance or may be delayed. Symptoms may include limb weakness or numbness, memory loss, vision loss, obsessive behaviour, delusions, headache, and sexual dysfunction.
