Oesophagitis

Oesophagitis is an inflammation of the esophagus. The esophagus is the muscular tube that delivers food from your mouth to your stomach. Oesophagitis, also spelled esophagitis, often causes painful, difficult swallowing and chest pain. Causes include infection, allergies, and the back up of stomach acid into the esophagus. Treatment depends on the underlying cause.
