Poison Ivy Rash

Poison ivy, oak and sumac are plants that commonly cause an allergic skin reaction. The result is typically a red, itchy rash with bumps or blisters. The rash is caused by a sensitivity to an oil resin, called urushiol, which is found in the leaves of the plants. Mild cases of poison ivy rash require no medical treatment.
