Sleep Apnoea

Sleep apnoea (apnea) is when a person, while sleeping, ceases breathing for a short period of time. This occurs repeatedly throughout the duration of the sleep. There are three types, the most common (accounting for around 17 in 20 cases) being obstructive sleep apnoea, where not enough air enters the lungs. This often results in loud snoring.
