Beta carotene is a pigment found in plants that gives them their colour. It gives fruits there yellow and orange colour and is used a a food colour in foods such as margarine. Beta Carotene is converted into vitamin A and is essential for good vision and a strong immune system. Beta carotene is a antioxidant and protects the body from free radicals.
