Aseptic Meningitis

Meningitis is an infection and the subsequent inflammation of the membranes enclosing the brain and spinal cord. Aseptic meningitis is diagnosed when testing for standard bacteria yields no results. In many cases, the cause remains unidentified.

Sometimes, however, non-infectious factors can cause aseptic meningitis; including some medications and auto-immune disorders.
