Seizures

Seizures occur due to sudden, abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Not all seizures cause convulsions. Most seizures last between 30 seconds and 2 minutes in length and do not cause lasting harm. It is considered a medical emergency if a seizure lasts more than 5 minutes or if a person is having multiple seizures and does not wake up between them.
