Stroke (Cerebrovascular Accident)

A stroke occurs when blood flow to the brain ceases, killing brain cells within minutes. There are two types, ischemic - caused by a blood clot, and haemorrhagic, where a blood vessel breaks and bleeds into the brain. Ischemic strokes are more common.
