Recommendation: No recommendation (There is insufficient evidence to support claims that selenium supplementation helps to treat hepatitis, goiter, thyroiditis, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, acute coronary syndromes, pancreatitis, asthma, hypercholesterolaemia, prostate cancer, heart disease, hyperlipidemia. More research is needed.)

Recommendation: Weakly in favor (Observational studies have shown that taking adequate daily amounts of selenium can help prevent ovarian cancer. However, these are very unreliable studies, and more research is needed.)
