However, these are very unreliable studies, and more research is needed.) Grade of Evidence: Very low level of evidence Alzheimer's Disease [10, 11, 12]: Recommendation: Weakly in Favor (Current evidence does not indicate it is an effective treatment for AD but some evidence shows selenium to be an effective preventive strategy for the development of AD, however it is likely to be useful in conjunction with other treatments) Grade of Evidence: Very low level of evidence

However, these are very unreliable studies, and more research is needed.) Grade of Evidence: Very low level of evidence Esophageal Cancer [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9]: Recommendation: Weakly in favor (Observational studies have shown that taking adequate daily amounts of selenium can help prevent esophageal cancer. However, these are very unreliable studies, and more research is needed.) Grade of Evidence: Very low level of evidence Pancreatic Cancer [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9]: Recommendation: Weakly in favor (Observational studies have shown that taking adequate daily amounts of selenium can help prevent pancreatic cancer.
